Amy Cochran, We Travel Luxe advisor, recently spent eight nights in Turks & Caicos. The experience reinforced her passion for helping clients find the right fit and the value a trusted travel advisor brings to the planning process.

After days spent walking beaches, touring villas, meeting hospitality teams, and experiencing properties across the islands, one thing became clear: the details matter. The difference between a good vacation and an unforgettable one often comes down to nuances that are difficult to appreciate from a website or social media post alone.

Here is a little bit from Amy, in her own words:

Clients often ask me, "What's the best resort in Turks & Caicos?"

My answer is always the same: "There isn't one. It is what is the best one... for you."

Hello Turks!
Hello Turks!

During my visit, I toured Beach Enclave, Ambergris Cay, The Palms, The Shore Club, and Wymara. Every property was beautiful. Yet, I would recommend each one to a different traveler.

The best vacation isn't about booking the most expensive resort or the one everyone is talking about on social media. It's about finding the right fit for your family, travel style, budget, and desired experience.

That's the value of working with an advisor. The goal isn't simply finding a great property. It's finding the right one for you.

What I Saw This Week

During my visit, I toured:

Beach Enclave's villa collections at multiple locations

The Palms Turks & Caicos

The Shore Club

Wymara Resort + Villas

Ambergris Cay

Every single property was beautiful.

Every single property offered a luxury experience.

And every single one would appeal to a different traveler.

The Biggest Myth About Luxury Travel

One of the biggest misconceptions in luxury travel is that there is a universal "best" hotel or resort.

There isn't.

The family of five looking for space, privacy, and a dedicated butler team will likely prioritize something completely different than a couple celebrating an anniversary.

A family traveling during spring break has different needs than travelers visiting in September. Have a baby in tow? Then, that changes everything again.

Some clients want to walk to restaurants and explore.

Others want to completely disconnect and never leave the property, and feel like they are on a deserted island.

The magic happens when the property matches the traveler.

The Nuances Matter

Many luxury resorts look similar online: beautiful beaches, ocean views, elegant accommodations and exceptional service.

What websites don't always show are the nuances that make a huge difference once you arrive.

Questions I think about when helping clients include:

• What is the beach experience really like? Will someone bring you a Pina Colada from the bar? Or, do you need to plan for a butler/chef?

• Does the property feel lively or secluded? How close is the property next door?

• How much space (and beds!) does the family actually need? Who is traveling? Grandparents have mobility issues? Does Nanny need their own cottage? These details matter.

• Is this location and beach ideal during the season they're traveling?

• Does the service style match their expectations?

• How important are dining options nearby? Or, does the villa have staff, and what does that entail?

• Is this trip about celebration or relaxation or both?

These details often determine whether a vacation is simply nice or truly memorable.

Why Site Visits Matter

This is exactly why travel advisors spend time visiting destinations.

You can spend all your free time reading about a resort online and going through all the reviews (rabbit holes!)

You can look at all the gorgeous professional photography.

But until you've walked the beach, toured the accommodations, and experienced the atmosphere firsthand, it's difficult to fully understand who the property is best suited for. This is also why local contacts matter.

The differences are often subtle, but they matter.

However, I firmly believe I don't have to spend the night in every resort or visit every destination in the world to plan an exceptional trip for my clients. Luxury travel is as much about relationships as it is about destinations. What matters most is knowing the right people, asking the right questions, and having trusted partners on the ground who know their destination inside and out.

Takeaway From Turks & Caicos

The biggest lesson from this trip wasn't that I found the perfect resort.

It was that I found several exceptional resorts and villa experiences that each serve a different type of traveler.

My job isn't to tell every client where I would stay.

My job is to understand how they travel and match them with the experience that fits them best.

Because in Turks & Caicos, like everywhere, there is no single "best" resort.

There is only the best fit for you.

Why book your next Turks & Caicos vacation with us?

VIP Arrival & Departure

The start/end of your trip matters. We always recommend arriving and departing Turks & Caicos with VIP assistance so you can start relaxing the minute you land. Then you meet your private transfer and are on your way. We don't recommend grabbing a taxi in Turks & Caicos when you land. Why? They are all shared... did you know that?

Boats, Dining, Fishing & Things to Do

Turks & Caicos. You can and SHOULD plan lots of relaxation time. But, if you or your group want a boat day with a private chef... we can do that. Fishing? Absolutely. Cultural presentation for the kids? Yes! Dining? We have so many recommendations. Need a private chef one night? Everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Leave the planning to us and get back to your life/work/family. It is not a "luxury" vacation if you have to do all the work.

Exclusive Upgrades & Amentities through our Partnerships

Because of our affiliations with Travel Experts and Virtuoso, many times in certain properties we are able to offer you exclusive perks like upgrades (when available), daily breakfast, food and beverage or resort credit, early check in or late checkout. At booking, we will be able to share with you what value added benefit you receive by booking with us.
